Curriculum Vitae
A native of Central New York, Thérèse completed her education locally graduating magna cum laude from LeMoyne College and cum laude from Syracuse University College of Law. While in school, she worked for a premier grocery retailer in management positions and was awarded academic scholarships from the company for her loyalty and efforts. She and Catherine worked at a large Syracuse law firm before forming Gale & Dancks, LLC in 1997.
Thérèse has represented national insurance companies and their insureds in a variety of personal injury matters including medical malpractice and toxic tort claims. She has litigated insurance coverage issues as well as labor law claims and has represented major companies and educational institutions in employment related issues including discrimination claims and ADA matters. In addition to continuing her trial, appellate and litigation practice in the areas of medical malpractice defense and other personal injury matters, Thérèse has developed employment and corporate work in the areas of employer/employee disputes, directors and officers coverage disputes, contract formation and interpretation, and formation of business entities.
Thérèse is a member of numerous community, charitable and professional associations and has held leadership positions in several of these organizations. In 2004, New York State Chief Judge Judith Kaye appointed Thérèse to serve on the statewide Commission to Examine Solo and Small Firm Practice. Past President of the Central New York Women’s Bar Association and currently President of the Board of Directors of the Hiscock Legal Aid Society, she was the selected recipient of the Sister Mary Vera Award by Vera House, Inc. in recognition of her contributions to the community. Thérèse is an avid runner and enjoys riding her Harley Road King throughout the state.
